Unrest Spreads

Well, the unrest and violence continues to spread through Ethiopia. We aren't sure what's going on now. Our agency was unaware of the situation when we called them (is this good or bad?), but has since told us that they are sending people there on Saturday to check things out. For the most part, Addis Ababa appears quiet but frozen. Shops and businesses are closed, and there's no telling if the court system or government agencies are functioning. Recent reports in the news included a report of a government worker who was in fear of safety for her and her family.

We are following the stories of other people who are on their way to Ethiopia right now to get their children through other agencies. Additionally, we have been told that a family has met or is meeting with Eyerus on our behalf at any time. I wish it could be us.

We are frustrated by the lack of information we can gleen regarding the momentum of the adoption process. We realize everyone is in pretty much the same boat, but we are recieving sporadically updated info from other agencies on the ground there.

We just continue to pray for peace in Ethiopia and speed in Eyerus' homecoming.
